All watches require routine maintenance and servicing to keep them performing at their best. At Offord & Sons we only use the most highly skilled watchmakers for our servicing work so you can be sure that your watch has received the best possible attention, backed up with our guarantee. One of our watchmakers will examine your watch to assess what is required and then give a free no obligation estimate to carry out the required work.
We can also return your watch to the manufacturer for an estimate if this is your preferred option.
The servicing Process
Many watch movements have over 150 different parts, so it is vital that they are looked after correctly to preserve the quality and value of the watch. A full service will involve the movement being stripped down to it's individual parts, assessed for wear and tear, cleaned, reassembled with new parts where needed and lubricated. The watch case is then cleaned and restored where required and resealed. Next the watch is placed on specialist timing equipment to check it is running to within the manufacturers time keeping tolerances.
Battery replacements
We offer an in-house battery replacement service while you shop. We only use high quality watch batteries and can even pressure test your watch to make sure the seals are working correctly.
