At Offord & Sons we specialise in the design and creation of bespoke jewellery, so why not make your dreams become reality with a custom made piece of jewellery. If you appreciate attention to detail and a superior quality product then you need look no further, from the initial design right through to completion we remain focused on delivering stunning bespoke jewellery to the highest possible standard.
In this day and age of mass production, when one jewellers stock looks much the same as the next, why not break away from the crowd and have something unique, designed and crafted just for you, typically at no extra expense than buying an off the shelf item.
You may have no idea what you want or perhaps you have a detailed design you want to bring to life. Maybe you have a family heirloom you want to incorporate? Some of our clients bring in pictures and sketches. This is helpful, but it certainly isn’t essential, and if you’re not sure about the design you want, don’t worry, we’ll guide you through all the options and discuss your inspiration, ideas, timescales, designs, practical considerations and proposed budget.
Be it an engagement ring, a fitted wedding ring, eternity ring, civil partnership ring, special gift or simply a treat for yourself, the process of making bespoke custom jewellery is a truly wonderful experience and we aim to make it as special as possible.
Our bespoke jewellery service provides you with the opportunity to be involved in every step of the creation, from design to completion, we will supply a selection of highly detailed photograph quality images of the design to help you really visualise your dream item of jewellery for the first time. We will sit down and discuss the design with you, make any necessary alterations and when the final design is decided upon, will proceed to the next stage of the process. As some of our clients are based overseas, and unable to visit our premises, we are very happy to work with you over the phone and by email.
Stage 1 - Create the bespoke jewellery design using the latest 3D CAD software.
Stage 2 - At this point we will either begin to hand make the item, or as is more often the case these days, will print out a life size resin model of the piece using one of our on-site 3D printers. We can show you a selection of diamonds or coloured stones, globally sourced to obtain the best quality and price, or indeed reuse gemstones from inherited or old jewellery of sentimental value that isn’t your style and is no longer being worn. Once printed we can set the stones in the sample model for you to try on in order to visualise the finished piece.
Stage 3 - The next step is to have the item created in the precious metal of your choice, after which it will be sent to assay for the legal requirement of hallmarking, giving you the added assurance of the type and quality of metal used. Upon its return the item is skilfully cleaned and polished by one of our goldsmiths, ready to have the gemstones set into it.
Stage 4 - With the stones set into the ring it will receive it's final clean and polish by one of our goldsmiths, prior to being placed in one of our blue presentation boxes ready for collection.
If you would like a record of the process, it would be our pleasure to present you with a selection of images showing from the design, to the manufacture, right through to the final completion.

The length of time needed to make a bespoke item of jewellery is dependent upon the individual design of each piece and the resources available, but will be discussed at the design stage and every effort will be made to accommodate your deadlines.
